There is one quote that describes why I create as an artist. In the book, “BEHIND THE EASEL” by Robert C. Jackson and Pamela Sienna, Steven Assael was asked the question “For whom do you paint?”. He responds:

“Honestly, it's not even for myself. God made me a certain way, and I do it whether it is pleasant or unpleasant because it is part of my nature. I think it is better to be simply immersed in the work and not give much thought to or even be consciously aware of whether or not I am painting for an audience. In the same way, style isn't something one consciously tries to adopt, it just comes through the process itself. Style naturally develops. Even though there is an element of fulfillment and contentment in painting and drawing for me, I wouldn't necessarily call it happiness.”
